Intro to Anthropomorphism

I lust for moon-high silence
absent the clatter of
unremarkable things
breeding conflict without motion

Just as menace
in the Mountains Laurel
parades unseen
I too grow wild
beneath
below
and in between

On the dermis of a shadow thigh
there is stubble of half life
awaking me defeated to
another mindless Waterloo

Insurrections of sun
stumbling through panes
rumble and roar
to press a bruise of amber
on the staves

'Fuck me'
sounds my retreat
turning, only to meet

the cold auxiliary...

Waves
of clocks and crystal
crashing upwards
casting fractals
answering
the leaking copper
of flaming cavalry

Here lies
in the ruins of the day
a casualty of one
swollen-eyed elegy
reaching for the blinds.

I, Winter

I was conscripted by wolves
in the hours between ‘then’ and ‘now’
Howling Vicars to a vicious alter
You keep what you surrender,
nothing stays as is
Let me return
to tomorrow,
marked
All foot-falls are tribal
Blood crusts and stains the fur
Hear me pace and nothing notice
but pine chimes in windless séance
Fearless is far from Godless
Breathe quick what little matters
in the instant
So strips–
Winter.
